Potassium stearate is a kind of fine white,fluffy powder with greasy touch sense and fatty odor,soluble in hot water or alcohol,and its solvent is alkaline because of hydrolysis.
Function:
As a anionic surfactant, it is widely used in the vulcanizing system of acrylic rubber soap/sulfur. Anionic surfactant. Commonly known as potash soap or soft soap, it is mainly used in creams and shampoos as emulsifiers and detergents. Has the very high emulsification efficiency, but is sensitive to hard water, and the hard water can generate calcium soap, make the emulsion to distort or break, calcium is a sensitive emulsifier, so in cosmetics should be paid attention to in the production process.
Application:
In food industry, used as a surface active agent and fiber softener, loose agent, blowing agent, anti-caking agent, emulsifier, stabilizer.
In cosmetic, potassium stearate is thickener in cleaning lotions and shampoos, gelling agent for some oil type cosmetics.
