Chondroitin sulfate (also known as edible cartilage powder) is a complex of chondroitin sulfate and protein made from cartilage, with a relative molecular weight of 20000-40000. An acidic mucopolysaccharide protein is composed of chondroitin sulfate glucuronic acid galactose xylose serine. As a commodity, dextrin is often added to make powder. The main framework of chondroitin sulfate also has a, B, C, D, e, F and other kinds, of which a, B, C are the main three kinds, of which chondroitin sulfate B is also known as dermatan sulfate.
It is gray white to yellowish brown amorphous powder. It has a little special fishy smell and salty taste and hygroscopicity. It is soluble in water as a viscous liquid, does not condense when heated, and insoluble in ethanol, acetone and glacial acetic acid
Especially for joint diseases, the current western medicine treatment methods are mostly the use of electrotherapy or acupuncture, massage and other ways, most of the prescription drugs only relieve pain and other drugs. The root cause of most joint diseases is not muscle or bone, but cartilage. The key to the rehabilitation of joint diseases is to promote cartilage regeneration. This is where cartilage powder plays a role. Common problems associated with cartilage regeneration are:
Osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis): such as knee arthritis, are caused by degeneration and wear of articular cartilage.
Rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis: in the middle and late stage can appear articular cartilage deformation.
Lumbar disc herniation: when the annulus fibrosus cartilage between the lumbar vertebrae becomes loose, the nucleus pulposus will protrude and touch the nerve during the wrapping.
Meniscus injury and patella malacia: meniscus and patella itself are large cartilage.
Ankylosing spondylitis: calcification and hardening of fibrocartilage in the spine leads to mandatory spondylitis.
All of the above can be through the ingestion of cartilage powder, especially one kind of sawtooth cartilage powder.
